1. Low battery life : The aksh tab got a 2100mAh battery which is nothing compared to 10 hour battery life offered by latest tablets like ipad. If you're reading an Ebook it may last for 3.5 Hrs, but not more than 2.5 Hours if you're going to watch a movie.




2. No inbuilt webcam: The tablet doesn't come with camera so videos chatting is not possible on the go. However you can plug-in an external web camera, utilizing the USB ports provided.




3. Less processor speed : Compared to a low end smartphone, Arm11 – 366Mhz processor is simply not capable of heavier programs/ apps, and multi tasking always sucks.




4. Heats up quickly : Users reviews shows that the device tend to heats up quickly.




5. Poor display and touch experience: It doesn't make sense to expect a HD multi touch screen on the cheaper device, but I should say that the display quality is worse than you think. Also, benefits such as pinch zooming will not work on its resistive touch screen.




6. Non availability of support: There are customer care centers which are available in a few metro-cities only. If you got a problem with your device, then you're locked.




7. Missing Android market place : You cant access the android market for new apps and games even if it comes with Android 2.2 Froyo.




8. It has no Bluetooth, GPRS/3G : The aakash tab data connectivity shrinks to WiFi and USB ports. You cant insert SIM cards or just cant use like a phone.

DataWind Ubislate 7 is now Ubislate 7+

DataWind, the Aakash Tablet manufacturer has today renamed the upgraded version of Aakash from Ubislate 7 to Ubislate7+. Features and the price will remain almost the same. Aakash or Ubislate 7 is the cheaper version.
The specifications will be a Cortex a8-700 Mhz Microprocessor, 3200mAH battery, Android 2.3 Operating System, 7″ TFT Resistive Screen and Wi-Fi with GPRS (SIM and Phone Functionality).
DataWind today said that they are getting in touch with all of those who had either Booked Aakash(Ubislate7) or Pre Booked Ubislate7+. The deliveries across the country are already in progress and everyone will get their tablets real soon.

Mumbai students to get the Aakash tablet for Rs. 1,138

Mumbai college students will be soon given the Aakash tablet at a subsidised price of Rs. 1,138. It's notable that the market price of the ultra low-cost Aakash tablet is Rs. 2,500. According to a TOI report, the subsidised Aakash will be made available in 100 varsities including Mumbai University.
Rajpal Hande, director, board of college and university development, tells TOI that the department had issued circulars to all affiliated colleges and department in this regard and they have already given their requirements. Hande further says that the students might also be offered the upgraded version of the Aakash tablet a.k.a UbiSlate 7, which is scheduled to be launched in January.
The official further says that the Aakash will help students access online content for different courses. To get the Aakash tablet, students need to place an order with their respective colleges or the departments concerned. The tablet will allow both teachers and students in the university to access online content whenever they require.

The Aakash tablet was sold out in less than a week after it was released online. DataWind, the maker of the Aakash, has stressed on pre-booking of the UbiSlate 7, which is said to be the upgraded version of the Aakash tablet. The UbiSlate 7 comes with various improvements over the original Aakash tablet and costs just Rs. 499 more.

The Aakash tablet is still not available in the retail stores and DataWind has not yet provided any information on its availability. You may wait for another few weeks to lay hands on a better version of the Aakash tablet.

मोटोरोला ने गूगल के एंड्रॉयड बेस्ड हनीकॉम्ब ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम के साथ मिलकर आईपैड का एक हेल्दी कॉम्पिटीटर मोटोरोला जूम तैयार किया है। जूम में नए सॉफ्टवेयर्स के अलावा बेहतर हार्डवेयर भी लगे हैं। 1 गीगाहर्ट्ज का 1 जीबी डीडीआर 2 रैम के साथ उपलब्ध है। इसके अलावा, इसमें 32 जीबी का इंटरनल स्टोरेज, 10.1 इंच का डिस्प्ले और फ्रंट व रियर फेसिंग कैमरे की सुविधा है। इस पहला ऐसा टैब्लेट है, जो एंड्रॉयड पर बेस्ड है। गौरतलब है कि हनीकॉम्ब में 3डी डेस्कटॉप और 3डी में गूगल मैप्स5 की सुविधा उपलब्ध है। खास बात यह है कि जूम डॉकिंग स्टेशंस को सपोर्ट करता है, जो कि चार्जिंग के साथ विडियो देखने के लिए भी इस्तेमाल किया जाता है।
