किसने बनाया एंड्रॉइड, जानें आखिर क्यों मिठाइयों पर रखा जाता है इसका नाम (few-interesting-facts-about-android-operating-system)

> एंड्रॉइड का हिंदी मतलब होता है- मानव के समान दिखने और काम करने वाले यंत्र ( रोबोट )।

>इस ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम का नाम हमेशा मिठाइयों के नाम पर रखा जाता है।

>गूगल ने कभी इस बात का खुलासा नहीं किया की आखिर इस ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम का नाम मिठाइयों के नाम पर कैसे रखा जाने लगा, लेकिन गूगल के एक प्रवक्ता रैन्डाल सराफा (Randall Sarafa) ने बताया की ये टीम को जोड़े रखने के लिए है। सराफा के मुताबिक मिठाइयों के नाम पर ही एंड्रॉइड का नाम रखा गया है और रखा जाएगा। ये किसी को समझाया नहीं जा सकता है, लेकिन इससे गूगल की टीम को रिप्रेजेंट किया जा सकता है।

> एंड्रॉइड ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम असल में गूगल द्वारा नहीं बनाया गया था। एंडी रूबिन ने एंड्रॉइड इंक. की स्थापना की थी। गूगल से जुड़ने के बाद इस टेक जायंट ने एंड्रॉइड का विकास किया और इसे करोड़ों लोगों तक पहुंचाया। एंड्रॉइड लिनक्स पर डिजाइन किया हुआ फोन ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम है। 

>एंड्रॉइड ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम और गूगल के रोबोटिक डिविजन के पीछे रूबिन का ही दिमाग था। एंडी रूबिन ने एंड्रॉइड इंक की स्थापना की थी जिसे 2005 में गूगल ने खरीद लिया था और उस समय से एंडी रूबिन गूगल के साथ काम कर रहे थे। हाल ही में आई खबर के अनुसार एंडी ने गूगल छोड़ दिया है औ अब वो अपना खुद का बिजनेस शुरू करने जा रहे हैं। एंडी इन्क्यूबेटर्स डिजाइन करना चाहते हैं। 

> एंड्रॉइड की ABCD-

एंड्रॉइड ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम के नाम को लेकर एक और रोचक तथ्य है। मिठाइयों के नाम रखने के साथ ही एंड्रॉइड ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम के हर वर्जन का नाम अंग्रेजी के अल्फाबेट्स के अनुसार ABCD में रखा जाता है। मसलन पहले वर्जन का नाम A से था, दूसरे का B से, तीरसे का C से और इसके आगे हालिया रिलीज लॉलीपॉप 5.0 L से रखा गया है।

> बंद होने वाली थी एंड्रॉइड कंपनी-

दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा और लोकप्रिय मोबाइल ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम बनाने वाली कंपनी एंड्रॉइड (बाद में गूगल) अपने शुरुआती दौर में आर्थिक तंगी के कारण बंद होने वाली थी। 2003 में शुरू हुई एंड्रॉइड इंक अपने खर्च उठा पाने में असमर्थ थी। कुछ समय बाद (2005 में) इस कंपनी को गूगल ने खरीद लिया। इसके बाद एंड्रॉइड में कुछ खास बदलाव किए गए और ये दुनिया का सबसे लोकप्रिय मोबाइल ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम बन गया है। 

डिजिटल कैमरा के लिए बनाया गया था एंड्रॉइड-

एंड्रॉइड ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम सबसे पहले डिजिटल कैमरा के लिए डिजाइन किया गया था। एंड्रॉइड डेवलपमेंट के बाद इसपर काम करने वाली टीम को लगा की ये स्मार्टफोन्स के लिए अच्छा ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम बन सकता है इसलिए इसे फोन ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम की तरह डिजाइन किया गया।

Google Play : Indian Android developers now allowed to publish Paid Apps

Indian Android application developers can rejoice now. Google has decided to let the Indian application developers to publish paid apps to Google Play, their Android app store. Till now, the Indian developers could only publish free apps. This was made possible as Google decided to include India in the list of countries from where developers can publish the paid apps.

The decision of Google is expected to bring back smiles to the face of thousands of application developers in India who can now target for new revenue stream with paid apps getting published in the app store.

Industry experts welcoming this move from Google commented that this was long due and it would bring a strong Indian application developer network to the Android ecosystem thereby bringing in more innovative apps. They hoped that this would pave the way for development of more localized Android apps specifically designed to meet the needs of Indian consumers.

It may be recalled that now Android is fast becoming the most popular mobile OS in India with Samsung and other Indian players like Micromax bringing in a wide range of Android smartphones and feature phones in the market.

Till now it was a huge struggle for Indian app developers and firms as they had to undergo a cumber some process to publish these paid apps. Some companies have even set up subsidiary in US for the sole purpose of publishing their apps in the Play store. Now these firms would breathe a sigh of relief as they don’t need to invest in setting up subsidiary in US or have a local bank account in US to launch these paid apps in Google Play Store.

The new move by Google is expected to increase the number of apps in Google Play store considerably. Currently there are around 6.5 lakh apps in Android store where as it is more than seven lakhs in Apple store.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean : Samsung starts Galaxy s3 update , planned for 10 more smartphones and Tablets

According to an exclusive report from The Verge, the Android Jelly Bean 4.1.1 update for Samsung Galaxy S3 has been started by the manufacturer to roll out, starting from Poland today. earlier reports informed that the update will be available IN October, however it seems to be a great update for the current owners of the handset that the update has started earlier than expected.
Reportedly, the update is being pushed out through Samsung’s KIES software, rather than over the air (OTA) but the update is available in the OTA servers and will be soon available.
However, the good news doesn’t just end here, the same report has also confirmed that besides Galaxy S3, the Korean giant will has also provided the folks over there with a full list of devices that will be upgraded to Jelly Bean.

The list includes ten phones: the Galaxy S2,Galaxy Note, Galaxy S Advance, Galaxy S2 LTE, Galaxy Chat, Galaxy Ace 2, Galaxy Beam, Galaxy Ace Plus, Galaxy Mini 2, and Galaxy S Duos and also four tablets including the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, Galaxy Note 10.1; and an unknown device, the Galaxy Music which still holds a mysterious identity.

What Is Android ?

Android is an operating system for mobile devices such as smart phones and tablet computers. It is developed by the Open Handset Alliance led by Google. Android is a mobile operating system that is based on a modified version of Linux. Google purchased the initial developer of the software, Android Inc., on August 17, 2005.
Android consists of a kernel based on the Linux kernel, with middleware, libraries and APIs written in C and application sof-tware running on an application framework which includes Java-compatible libraries based on Apache Harmony. Android uses the Dalvik virtual machine with just-in-time compilation to run Dalvik dex-code (Dalvik Executable), which is usually tr-anslated from Java byte code. Google wanted Android to be open and free; hence, most of the Android code was released under the open-source Apache License, which means that anyone who wants to use Android can do so by downloading the full Android source code.
When the iPhone was launched, many of these manufacturers had to scramble to find new ways of revitalizing their products. These manufacturers see Android as a solution – they will continue to design their own hardware and use Android as the operating system that powers it.
